The gates were erected in memory of Miriam Cameron for her contribution to music. Mrs Cameron was a foundation member of the Horsham Music Club and a well known singing teacher. Miriam Cameron died in 1951.
The dedication of the Miriam Cameron Memorial Gates at the Horsham Botanical Garden would probably be held on January 31. The City Engineer (Mr. C. Vaughan) said this yesterday. He added the date and time of the dedication would be decided at the next meeting of the committee of the Horsham Music Club, which raised the money for the memorial.
