The plaque, mounted on a large granite boulder, commemorates the opera singer Eva Mylott who was born at Tuross Farm in 1875 .
Eva Mylott who was born in Tuross in 1875 showed early promise of becoming a star and attracted the attention of Dame Melba, who arranged for her to go to Paris. In due course she toured Britain and the Continent and later, America. She returned to Australia for a short concert season and again had a successful tour of Europe, where she sang before King Edward VII.
She returned to America where she was married on 17 June 1917. She gave marvellous concerts throughout America during World War One in aid of the War Relief. She died on 20 March 1920.
