The monument was commissioned by the charity group Variety, and includes images of 100 favourite Australian actors, comedians, singers and dancers from the past century.

It features a Walk of Fame as well as a large mural of the chosen 100.

There are also five individual statues of Kylie Minogue, John Farnham, Graham Kennedy, Dame Nellie Melba and Dame Edna Everage.
