Graeme Brien Park
This park is named in honour of Graeme Harold Brien originally from Melbourne, Victoria. Graeme was appointed Executive Director of the Queensland Cancer Fund in 1988. Under his leadership and effort in fund raising, the Queensland Cancer Fund has become on of the most successful charities in the international programme. Graeme Brien supported the initiative of Alderman Kerry Smith for the introduction of the first mobile breast screening unit for women on the Gold Coast.
This plaque serves as an acknowledgement to Graeme Brien for his devotion to the cause of finding a cure for cancer.
