The shelter commemorates Martha Jane Frost who died in 1986 at the age of 85. 

Martha Jane Frost (nee Wootten) was married in the Anglican Church at Prairie in 1922. Also known as Aunty Jane, she was a talented pianist and regularly played the organ at the church and the Saturday night dances.
