Eve MastermanPrint Page
The plaque commemorates the service of Eve Mastermann to the community of Berriedale. She was instrumental in the establishment of the International Peace Park in Berriedale.
Miss Masterman approached the Glenorchy City Council in the 1990s to ask if the Quaker Peace Committee could use a vacant strip of land adjacent to the railway line in Berriedale for a Peace Park. The Council assisted Miss Masterman with the garden and the planting of birch trees. Eve passed away at the age of 106 in 2014.
