This tablet was erected by subscribers to the Mechanics Institute, as a tribute to the memory of Thomas Shaw, Esq. of Wooriwyrite,
And to record their appreciation of his sterling character, and of his large-hearted interest, in all matters affecting the welfare of this town and District.
Unveiled on completion of additions to this hall on 13th August 1908 by T. Turner Shaw.
