This Reserve is named in honour of
Ronald William Stone JP
1897 - 1967
Ron helped establish Somers
and built the General Store and Post Office in 1927.
The family business which he ran for 40 years
served the community for 51 years.
He was instrumental in the development
and progress of Somers,
and was highly respected by the community.
This plaque was donated by the Somers Residents Association in 2006
