The plaque commemorates the work done by Jevan Wright (1982 - 2000) in the establishment of the skate park.  Jevan Wright died in 2000 in a shark attack at Elliston. 

The park was established and opened on the 27th July 2003 as a result of the work done by Jevan. The park was redeveloped in 2018.
