The monument commemorates the significant contribution Mrs Merle Llewellyn made to the community of Scoresby.
In 1946 Mrs Llewellyn, along with a number of other community members, was instrumental in establishing the Scoresby Football Club. Mrs Lewellyn actively supported the club in the honorary positions of Ladies Committee President and Treasurer for more than half a century.
