A tablet on directional marker commemorates Arthur H. Schlesinger, a resident of Balwyn who died in 1932.
Arthur H. Schlesinger was a leading member of the Balwyn Ratepayers’ and Citizens’ League. He took a prominent part in its debates, and in all of its activities, particularly those devoted to the establishment of parks and gardens. He was keenly interested in the proposal to subdivide the North Ward, and shortly before his death he outlined an original idea for stimulating public interest
in this matter.
