The bridge was named and dedicated in honour of Cyril Percy Treasure in recognition of his services to local government as a councillor of Waugoola and Cowra Shire Councils from 1950 to 1995.

In recognition of his long and distinguished service to Local Government and the community

In particular as a Councillor of Waugoola and Cowra Shire Councils between 1950 to 1995

Including Shire President of Waugoola Shire Council from 1964 to 1980 and of Cowra Shire Council from 1985 to 1991.
