Alderman John YeoPrint Page 
The plaque on the bandstand commemorates Alderman Yeo through whose advocacy the park was obtained for the people on the 20th November 1929. It is mounted on the south face of the bandstand which was built at the time of the dedication of the park.
Alderman Yeo served on the Ashfield Council for 18 years and was Mayor from June 1917 to December 1918. He was choirmaster for 25 years of the Dulwich Hill Methodist Church. He died in 1939.
