The park commemorates Jane Kennaugh, the first policewoman killed on duty in Western Australia.
Jane Kennaugh was killed in a traffic crash at the Madora Beach Road and Fremantle Road intersection in 1996. Ms Kennaugh joined the police service in 1986 and served in the America`s Cup Division, the Prosecuting Branch, Central, City and Canning police stations. At the time of her death, she was a Senior Constable at the Mandurah police station.
