A tree commemorates Alice Morton (1903 - 1980) who was the inaugural Matron of Bacchus Marsh and Melton Memorial Hospital from 1957 to 1967.

Alice Morton trained at Queen Victoria Hospital in the mid 1920s and was the inaugural matron of the Bacchus Marsh Memorial Hospital. She spent her life devoted to nursing.
