The plaque commemorates Dr. Charles Matysek who practiced in Penguin from 1955 to 1956,  Dr. Dobroslav Svoboda who practiced in Penguin from 1956 to 1970 and Dr. Tony Zvatora who practiced in Penguin from 1970 to 1988.

The doctors were former refugees from the Czech Republic.
