The marble tablet was erected in memory of Lieutenant Edward Ellis Henty who was killed in action at Gallipoli in August 1915 during World War One.
A tablet, which has been erected to the memory of Lieut. E. E. Henty, who was killed on Gallipoli, was unveiled in St. Stephen's Anglican Church on Sunday last by his widow. The dedication ceremony was performed by Canon Carmichael. The tablet is inscribed as follows:- " In loving memory of Edward A. Ellis Henty, Lieutenant 8th Light Horse, who was killed at Gallipoli on 7th August, 1915, aged 27 years. Glad did I live and gladly die, and laid me down, with a will."
