The marble plaque commemorates Lieutenant Gordon F. Nalder who was killed in action during World War One. 
A memorial tablet was unveiled at St. Clement's Church of England, Mosman, on Friday, May 3rd, by the Rev. Yarrington, to the memory of Lieut. Gordon F. Nalder, brother of Mr. A. Nalder, of Murwillumbah. There were about 100 persons present, including several returned soldiers. The tablet is of white Australian marble and Belgian marble (black), and bears the inscription "In loving memory of Lieut. Gordon F. Nalder A Company, 17th Battalion, A.I.F.,  killed in action at Bullecourt, 3rd May, 1917."
