The memorial commemorates Lance Corporal Stjepan Milosevic who was killed while on a tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2012.

GeoLINK was engaged by Armsign Pty Ltd to prepare a spatial design for the memorial to have an understanding of the context of the landscape for the visitors and their interaction with the memorial.

The site is in red desert land with distant views which will be glimpsed through the sculpture, located a short walk from the car parking area, creating a sense of isolation within the landscape to allow for contemplation and remembrance.
