 The plaque commemorates John James Costelloe who was wounded and died in the South African (Boer) War.
John Costelloe who served in the 5th Contingent Victorian Mounted Rifles (V.M.R.) was wounded at Middle Kraal and died of his injuries at Middleburg Hospital on the 5th July 1901.
