A room in the airport commemorates Rockhampton man, Eddie Hudson who won the Distinguished Flying Cross, and who flew the "G for George" Lancaster bomber during World War Two.
Hudson won the Distinguished Flying Cross and bar, and after many successful bombing raids over Europe survived the war and returned to Australia, eventually settling in Brisbane.
