The plaque erected by the Mothers' Union and Friends commemorates Elizabeth Mary Langley, wife of the first Bishop of Bendigo, and foundress of the Mothers' Union in the diocese. Elizabeth Langley died in 1923.

And in memory of Elizabeth Marys
Wife of Henry Archdall Langley first Bishop of Bendigo.
Foundress of the Mother`s Union in the Diocese, who passed to her rest on Match 31st 1923.
This tablet is erected as a token of loving esteem by members of the Mothers' Guild and other friends.
