The plaque was erected in memory of Reverend Watson who was vicar of the parish from 1936 - 1946.
At the last Annual Meeting it was decided to place in the Church a memorial to the men and women of the Forces who served in the recent war, a memorial to the late Rev. H. O. Watson, for ten years vicar of St. Peter's; a memorial to Rev. Geo. Cox, who for over 25 years gave faithful service to the church and community.
