The hall was erected by the members of the church to commemorate the services of  A. V. Milton.

The foundation stone of the Milton Memorial Hall, at St. Peters Baptist Church, was laid on Saturday by the  President of the Baptist Union (Mark King). The funds to build the hall have been raised by members of the church to commemorate the services of the late Mr. A. V. Mitton. The stone was presented by Messrs. K. Goodenough and Son, who are building the hall, which will cost £750. To raise the £125 which is still required a back to St. Peters Baptist Church celebration will be held next month.
