The birdbath, erected in 1965 by the Animal Welfare League and Lions Club, commemorates Reverend Harris.
Reverend R. A. Harris graduated as B.A. from the University of Sydney, 1902 and Th.L. from St John's Theological College, Armidale, N.S.W. He was curate of the Church of England at Inverell, 1904-1905 and Grafton, 1905-1907, and was a chaplain in the A.I.F., 1915-1919. He retired in 1957.
