The plaque was erected by the parishioners in memory of Reverend Mullens, Rector of the Church from 1906 to 1914.

On Sunday, a brass mural tablet to the memory of the late rector, Rev. J. H. Mullens, was unveiled in St. Anne's Church, Ryde, by the Venerable Archdeacon Boyce, who was a fellow student at Moore College in the year 1868. The tablet was on an oak base, and was inscribed as follows: — "To the Glory of God, and in memory of the Rev. Joseph H. Mullens, rector of this church, 1906 1914. Erected by his parishioners."
