Captain John Hepburn Print Page 
The cairn commemorates Captain John Hepburn who drove sheep overland from Sydney in 1838 and settled in the area.
The memorial is a cairn erected by J. H. Stout, Clarke Sewell and Arthur Toose who transported the stone to the top of the mountain with one of the first crawler tractors in Victoria.
