The prayer rails commemorate Colin and Eileen Jones, and their infant son, who died in a aeroplane crash in October 1934. Colin Jones was a former prefect at the school.

They were aboard the plane "Miss Hobart", Holyman Airlines DH-86, VH-URN which disappeared off Wilson’s Promontory in Victoria.
