The plaque commemorates Diane Best, a former patient at the hospital who died before she could receive medical treatment overseas.
Money was raised by the community for Diane Best to receive medical treatment overseas. She died before this could happen and the money was given to the hospital to purchase a vehicle to start the District Nursing Service.
