Warwick `Cookie` Cook Print Page 
A plaque commemorates veteran police officer Warwick 'Cookie' Cook who died in a climbing accident in 2006. The plaque honours his life and love of Mt Arapiles and was placed at the base of the climb Syrinx on Tiger Wall.
Sergeant Cook, 48, was an experienced rock climber who regularly visited Mt Arapiles. Sergeant Cook fell 15 metres to a ledge 80 metres above ground while climbing with his friend Neil Ritchie. Rescue crews, including Police Search and Rescue and Arapiles Rescue Group, abandoned a night-time rescue effort when Sergeant Cook was pronounced dead.
