The plaque commemorates the sinking of the Ballarat B-2 shaft and the co-operation of the city of Ballaarat.

The B-2 shaft was the first new mine shaft in Ballarat for over 100 years.

This plaque marks the occasion of the sinking of the first new mine shaft in Ballarat for over 100 years and recognises the  Co-operation of the City of Ballaarat. 

Ballarat Goldfields B-2 Shaft at Larter Street was opened on 4 July, 1989
