Memorial plaque commemorates the 130th anniversary of the first crushing and manufacture of commercial sugar in the Cairns region. The plaque honours the Hap Wah plantation (1878-1886), its Pioneer mill and executive manager Andrew Leon, and its historic site, now home to Stockland Cairns and highlights Chinese migrants' integral role in Far Northern development.
