The Victorian College of Pharmacy occupied this site from 1884 - 1960.
The Victorian College of Pharmacy, also known as the Melbourne School of Pharmacy and the Melbourne College of Pharmacy, was established in 1881 by the Pharmaceutical Society of Victoria. The college was moved to this location at 360 Swanston Street in 1884, into a building that stood on this site and had originally been the County Court of the Colony of Victoria.
The college continued to operate here until 1960, when it moved to 381 Royal Parade, Parkville.
This plaque was erected in 2006 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the college.
