The plaques placed along the route of Sheean Walk commemorate the actions of Australian soldiers who fought in World War Two and in the Malaya, Borneo, Vietnam and Korean conflicts.

On 30th June 2015, 15 bronze plaques were added to the walk dedicated to events in World War One. Funding was received through the ANZAC Centenary Grants Program.
