This memorial was opened by Brig. A. W. F. Rofe Commander 3rd. Task Force on 7th December 1977

The memorial was designed and constructed by 3rd. Fd. Engr. Regt. R.A.E. and 3rd Fd Engr Regt. Wksp RAEME, and was paid for by subscriptions  from the members of 3rd Task Force
