The mural, featuring a portrait of indigenous soldier Private Daniel Cooper, recognises the contribution of Aboriginal servicemen and servicewomen who have served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved from the Boer War to the present day.

(Proud, Strong Aboriginal People)
Private Daniel Cooper (24th Australian Infantry Battalion). Private Cooper was killed in action during the Battle of Menin Road, Belgium on Thursday 20 September 1917. He was 21 years old. Private Cooper is buried at Perth Cemetery (China Wall) Ypres, Belgium. Daniel Cooper was son of activist William Cooper and Agnes Cooper.
