The hall commemorates those from the District who served in war and peace.
At a public meeting held in the school on 19th October a committee was elected to investigate the question of building a Soldiers' Memorial Hall at Mil Lei. The following were elected to the committee-Messrs. L. S. Eldridge, J. Sorrell, P. J. Simpson, C. Sorrell, E. G. Pettingill, and J. Davis. It is expected that this committee will submit a report in the near future on the results of their investigations and suggest a suitable building.
