The War Memorial was originally erected to commemorate those from the district who died in service or were killed in action during World War One.
A portion of the monument was dedicated at a later date to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action during World War Two.
Additional plaques have been added to commemorate specific anniversaries of these conflicts.
