The cenotaph commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. 

The World War One sections lists 1,449 servicemen and 7 women (nurses), who were drawn from a Mildura population of approximately 5,000, which represents the highest per capita enlistment ratio in Australia during World War One.
