The gardens commemorate those who have died in service or have been killed in action in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. ANZAC Park was established within the gardens on the 28th September 2008.
A portion of the hedge at the entrance to the gardens was removed in 2020 due to a safety risk to motorists.
