Photographs supplied by Harry Frochter

The monument commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action in World Wars One and Two.

In 1949, the Gnowangerup RSL had raised enough money for the erection of a marble War Memorial which was to be a replica of the State War Memorial. The memorial was unveiled and dedicated on Anzac Day 1949.
The West Australian (Perth), 21 March 1949.
