The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

The new Claremont War Memorial Hall will be opened at 2 p.m. on Saturday 4th December by Sir Rupert Shoobridge, M.L. C. The official opening will be followed by a fair in the afternoon and a ball at night. Because the hall is a recognised war memorial it received £1,000 on a £ for £ basis from the State Government. Cadbury - Fry - Pascall, besides making a gift of £2,500,lent £10,000 to enable the hall to be completed.
