The park was originally created to commemorate those who served in World War One.  Plaques and honour rolls to commemorate other conflicts have been added.

Commemorative elements include an arch, dedicated on 11 November 2012, which incorporates 57 World War Two  enlistments on the left arch post. One Korean / Vietnam / Malaysia conflict name is also recorded.
