The Goombungee War Memorial was erected by the residents to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action during World War One.
The names those who died in service or were killed in action during World War Two were added at a later date.
The memorial was unveiled by General Sir T. W. Glasgow on the 11th December 1920 in front of a large gathering. Brigadier-General J. C. Robertson D.S.O. represented the Toowoomba sub-branch of the R.S.S.I.L.A. The memorial which cost over £300 is crowned with a figure of an ANZAC with arms reversed.
