The Memorial School of Arts was erected originally to commemorate those who served in World War One, but now commemorates other wars and conflicts. Marble Rolls of Honour for various conflicts are located on the front of the building behind the war memorial.
The foundation stone was laid by the Governor of Queensland on the 14th January 1929. The Memorial School of Arts was opened by the the Premier, Mr A.E. Moore on the 24th May 1930.
PITTSWORTH, March 10. At an enthusiastic meeting held in the Shire Hall last night it was agreed almost unanimously that the fallen soldiers' memorial should take the form of a public hall. It was estimated that the hall would cost at least £2030.
