The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

The Calen war memorial hall is expccted to be erected in the next slack season. At the annual meeting of the Calen and District War Memorial Commit the plans for the early construction of the hall were approved. The secretary (Mr. K. W. Manning) said last night the hall would be built on ground donated by St. Helen's R.S.L. sub-branch. Estimated cost of the building without furnishings was £1450.
