The monument was erected by the residents of Murrumburrah Municipality and Demondrille Shire to commemorate those who served in World War One.
MURRUMBURRAH Wednesday. Sir Charles Rosenthal visited Murrumburrah today and was entertained at a banquet. He unveiled the Soldiers' Memorial in the afternoon, 1000 people being present. The monument cost £1000. The names of 647 soldiers are inscribed on it.
