The plaque commemorates the contribution made to the Gallery between 1971 and 2001 by the the McClelland Gallery Society Inc. which became the Friends of the McClelland Gallery Inc. The members and friends supported the gallery through voluntary service and fund raising.

This plaque is in recognition of the contribution made to the McClelland Gallery by the McClelland Gallery Society Inc.
which became Friends of the McClelland Gallery Inc. in August 2000.
From 1971 to 2001 the Society members and Friends supported and promoted the Gallery through voluntary service, fund raising and the encouragement of social and cultural activity.
