This plaque commemorates the re-enactment in 1986 of the Long Trek by pioneer women who, from 1839, carried produce  from Hahndorf , via the Beaumont Spur, to Adelaide, returning with essential goods.

The planting of a tree commemorates the site chosen by George French Angus, from which he sketched Waterfall Gully for  The Lithograph by J. W. Giles, produced in 1847 in "South Australia Illustrated."
