The porch commemorates the pioneers of St. Peter`s Church which was built in 1861. 
 
Mornington, Sunday. At St. Peter's Church of England today, the Ven. J. A. Schofield, M.A., Archdeacon of Brighton, dedicated a new pipe organ, new vestry, porch, and tablet. The organ, donated by Mr. C. P. Fairbairn, of Greenlaw, Mount Martha, is valued between £4,000 and £5,000.
